Cortes Island's Beloved Summer Music Festival Returns August 8th 2026

Every August, Cortes Island does something it does better than almost anywhere else: it throws a party that feels like the whole island showed up. Lovefest 2026 is happening Saturday, August 8th, and if you've never been, it belongs on your list.

Lovefest began in 2017 as a commemoration of the 1967 Summer of Love, organized by local musician and Greenpeace co-founder Rex Weyler. What started as a community remembrance has grown into one of the most anticipated summer events on the island calendar — a full day of live music, local food vendors, arts and crafts, kids' programming, and that particular energy that only comes from a small island community genuinely celebrating itself.

What to Expect

The festival runs from 11 AM to late evening at Linnaea Farm, one of the Island's most iconic properties. Past lineups have featured a mix of local island musicians and visiting artists, with a kids' stage in the earlier part of the day giving young performers a chance to shine before the main acts take over. There are vendor booths, food, and community groups represented throughout the grounds.

Tickets are available at local island stores including the Co-op, Cortes Market, and Squirrel Cove General, as well as at the Friday Market in the weeks leading up to the event. Cash only. Watch for the full performer lineup announcement closer to the date at ourcortes.com.
